About me

Photo of Breathworks accreditation certificate.

Hi my name is Martin Rigby and I am an accredited Breathworks mindfulness teacher living and working in Preston, United Kingdom. This qualification demonstrates I have undertaken the BAMBA required professional training in mindfulness and meditation and I have developed the knowledge, skills, competencies and experience to deliver Breathworks two signature courses “Mindfulness for Health” (MfH) and “Mindfulness for Stress” (MfS).

I have now been meditating regularly since 2018. I have a daily meditation practice and I like to undertake a variety of breath-based, compassion-focused and mindful movement practices. Finding meditation has without doubt changed my quality of life for the better and enhanced my perspective on life. It has enabled me to live more mindfully each day, has helped me to manage my stress levels and has enhanced my work performance and my personal relationships. Mindfulness has also enabled me to feel more deeply connected with others and the environment, feeling less isolated as a result.

Being able to pace myself more and take care of my body is possibly one of the greatest gifts I’ve taken from my mindfulness training. I now find ways to be more in “being mode” rather than “doing mode” and feel I have more choice, control and flexibility over the events of my day rather than letting them control me. I believe overall I am a calmer, freer, more relaxed person, able to respond more rather than react to life’s daily challenges.

I decided to train as a mindfulness teacher because I wanted to pass on and share in my teaching with others so much of what I’ve learnt. Hopefully mindfulness and meditation will touch your life in the same way that it has touched mine. So please read on and I hope you will feel inspired to join me on my journey…

I am passionate about making mindfulness accessible, affordable and available to all…

One-to-One Mindfulness Sessions

In this free orientation session which normally lasts 1 hour and can take place either face-to-face, over the phone or online, at a time of your convenience, I will listen empathically to your needs and situation, introduce you to the Mindfulness for Health (MfH) and Mindfulness for Stress (MfS) courses and discuss with you the various training options which might suit you. If you then decide you feel comfortable working with me and you would like to continue, I will then explore with you how we can tailor a programme to suit your personal needs and lifestyle.

Mindfulness Community

On completion of my training as a Breathworks accredited teacher I decided to create an online mindfulness community (Sangha) for anybody who is interested in mindfulness, meditation or personal development. Initially I offered this space to family, friends and people I know but I have now expanded it to provide an accessible, supportive and welcoming environment to clients, colleagues, other professionals and the public.
